Art Russe Saint-Emilion Grand Cru wine-and-chess case from Chateau La Grace Dieu des Prieurs has been offered as a memento to the President of the Republic of Armenia Armen Sarkissian during his visit to the headquarters of the Russian Chess Federation in Moscow. On a working visit to Russia, Mr. Sarkissian and his wife were the guests of the famous chess house on Gogolevsky Boulevard. Among other things, the honoured guests familiarized themselves with the exhibition of the unique Chess Museum. FIDE President Arkady Dvorkovich and President of the Russian Chess Federation Andrei Filatov conducted a tour of the museum and the old Moscow mansion, which has been the centre of Russian chess life since 1956.

At the end of the excursion, RCF President and owner of Chateau La Grace Dieu des Prieurs Andrei Filatov presented the honoured guests with gifts – an album about the history of the Museum and a unique Art Russe Saint-Emilion Grand Cru wine-and-chess case. The wine-and-chess case from the Art Russe wine collection, including six bottles of exceptional grand cru wine from Chateau La Grace Dieu des Prieurs with a chessboard and a set of chess pieces, was specially designed by the chateau team in tribute to the ancient intellectual game. Today, wine-and-chess case from Chateau La Grace Dieu des Prieurs has become a staple at the world’s top chess competitions: at different times, the winners of the Candidates Tournament in Berlin and Yekaterinburg, American Fabiano Caruana and Russian Ian Nepomniachtchi, were presented with the case. At the end of 2021, the wine-and-chess case will become the special prize of the World Championship Match in Dubai, where Russian grandmaster Ian Nepomniachtchi will challenge the reigning Champion Magnus Carlson for the chess crown.
