Located a few steps away from the village of Saint-Emilion, the reputable Chateau La Grace Dieu des Prieurs unveils its 2021 white vintage, a 100% Chardonnay cuvée.
Coming from the estate’s sandy and clay soils, it is the first-ever Chardonnay produced in the Saint-Emilion area. Grafted onto old Merlot vines, Chardonnay occupies only 1 hectare of the Chateau’s total vineyard area. The vineyard teams pay meticulous attention to this unique plot, working exclusively by hand.
According to Louis Mitjavile, the Chateau’s winemaker and valuable consultant, “opulence, freshness and lightness” are the words that best describe this vintage. After years of experimentation, this fourth harvest has produced an exceptional wine.
Chateau La Grace Dieu des Prieurs has chosen new barrels with different types of toast from the Radoux Cooperage, which contribute to the aromatic and ambitious character of this white wine.
The 2021 cuvée will be bottled as of August 1, 2022 and will be available in both bottle and magnum formats to exalt the taste buds of wine connoisseurs!
