THE ART OF MAKING WINE, a documentary about the French winery Chateau La Grace Dieu des Prieurs has received the Award of Excellence at the international film festival “Accolade Global Film Competition” (La Hoya, California, USA).

Accolade Global Film Competition is a popular film festival for both famous and beginning filmmakers. Key evaluation criteria for film entries include exceptional achievements in the creative approach and technologies used to implement creative ideas. The festival jury consists of the film industry and TV professionals. Hundreds of films from dozens of countries are entered for the Competition every year.

The documentary about Chateau La Grace Dieu des Prieurs, shot by Russian director Vasily Klimov on commission from the chateau, has been awarded in the Web Tube Length Video category.

Rick Prickett, Chair of the Accolade Global Film Competition, noted that “getting the award at the Accolade is not easy, as applicants from around the world submit their entries. We help to establish high global standards of film production and creativity. Our task is to help talented filmmakers achieve the recognition they deserve. “

It was very interesting for us to work on a project combining several art forms at the same time – winemaking, architecture and painting, says director Vasily Klimov. We made a film about how people of very different professions create great wine. Above all else, this story is about professionals who are very passionate about their work. ”

THE ART OF MAKING WINE is the first work of the young Russian director on the topic of winemaking. Klimov’s portfolio includes documentary projects about the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Stanislavsky Theatre, as well as TV shows. His film “Vacuum” was included in the out-of-competition program of the Cannes Film Festival in 2013.

THE ART OF MAKING WINE also won recognition at other international film festivals. At the Oniros Film Awards (Saint Vincent, Italy), the documentary was among the finalists in the Best Under 5 Minute Film category, while the River International Film Festival (Padova, Italy) selected the film for festival screening in the Extreme Short category.
