Principality of Monaco, 18 December 2020

At the end of the year full of uncertainties triggered by the global health crisis, Chateau La Grace Dieu des Prieurs wished to support the Cardiothoracic Centre of Monaco (CCM), in order to help children suffering from cardiovascular and thoracic diseases.

In November 2020, Chateau La Grace Dieu des Prieurs had already set up a philanthropic action with the production of its first white wine under the elegant name Elena, in honour of Mrs. Filatova, spouse of the winery owner. In accordance with the wishes of Mrs. Filatova, the exceptional vintage will be auctioned off in 2021 for the benefit of associations dedicated to sick children.

A new action to be implemented in 2021 will be set in motion at the end of this year. At the same time, Chateau La Grace Dieu des Prieurs and its owner Andrei Filatov are taking the initiative to make a donation of 100,000 euros to Professor Vincent Dor, representative of the eminent Cardiothoracic Centre of Monaco (CCM).

In existence for more than 30 years, the Cardiothoracic Centre of Monaco (CCM) has become, over the years, the leading European centre of reference in cardiovascular medicine. For more than 25 years, the centre has cared for patients of all ages, minors and adults alike, suffering from thoracic and cardiovascular pathologies. World-renowned, Professor Dor and his entire department work every day to treat serious cardiac anomalies, even those considered incurable.

CCM Commitment to Humanitarian Actions

Recognized since its inception for its commitment to humanitarian actions, the Cardiothoracic Centre of Monaco (CCM) provides, each year, a significant number of pro bono treatments for children, adolescents and adults, made possible thanks to generous donations. In 2019, the Cardiothoracic Centre of Monaco (CCM) was able to perform 30 pro bono surgeries that allowed 23 children to be treated.

100,000 Donation for 2020

Following the same guiding principles as the auctioning of white Chardonnay Elena for the charitable benefit of sick children, Chateau La Grace Dieu des Prieurs wishes, once again, to provide support to children with cardiac anomalies. The full amount of the donation will be made available to the Cardiothoracic Centre of Monaco Association for Research Studies, in order to contribute financially to the organization and practical implementation of hospitalizations for said children requiring access to care in 2021.

Laurent Prosperi, Director of Chateau La Grace Dieu des Prieurs, Saint-Emilion:

“The year 2020 has been full of uncertainties. The health crisis has made us all become more aware of the fragility and value of human life. This year, we have made steps to launch philanthropic actions with, firstly, the auction of Elena magnums for the benefit of sick children; and, secondly, the donation of 100,000 euros to the Cardiothoracic Centre of Monaco Association for Research Studies, to enable children with cardiac pathologies and the most disadvantaged families to access care and, above all, to see rapid recovery in the future.”
